What is High 5 Long Island and how does it work?
The purpose of High 5 is to develop young audiences by making the arts affordable and accessible to students. The High 5 program enables students in middle school, high school, or college between the ages of 13 and 19 to
purchase tickets for any High 5 event for only $5 each, unless otherwise noted.

High 5 Tickets to the Arts was chartered as an independent, non-profit organization in New York City in 1995. The program has been highly successful in New York City, where thousands of students have taken advantage of the discounted tickets. High 5 Long Island, a national affiliate of the New York City program, is administered by the Long Island Arts Council at Freeport.

How do I become a High 5 Long Island student and purchase $5 tickets?
Download and complete the form below and send a copy of your school ID, drivers license, passport, a letter from a teacher or guidance counselor, or anything else showing that you are between the ages of 13 and 19. High 5 cards are issued free of charge and expire on the member’s 20th birthday. There is a $5.00 fee for replacement cards

1. Make your selections
Look through this catalog and choose the shows you want to see and/or the museums you want to visit.

2. Buy your tickets
High 5 ticket privileges and ticketing procedures vary according to the policies of the individual institutions. They range from one High 5 ticket to up to four tickets per event for only $5 each. Some events are free or less than $5, so read the catalog carefully. Advance purchase is permitted at some, but not all venues. Tickets for Tilles Center performances may only be purchased on the same day as the performance, no earlier than 2 hours prior to the event. If you are interested in a particular event, call the phone number listed next to the event to make sure High 5 tickets are still available. Then take your High 5 ID card and money to the theater or museum box office. Tickets may ONLY be purchased directly through the venue’s box office or through the Arts Council office.

3. Confirm the date
Events are always subject to change and/or cancellation, so call the box office the day of the event to confirm the date and time.

4. Have a great time!
