Steven has been taking photos for more years than he can remember. Since he started shooting photos digitally, he has developed a unique style… He calls it “Black Plus” It is actually a color photo that is converted to black and white while keeping some of the color which enhances the photo. His favorite areas of photography are cityscapes and landscapes. His site also shows many “conventional” works. Hopefully, you will enjoy viewing the all of his photos.

Edessa Studio: Hand-Knotted Jewelry Design and Repair Edessa Studio: Hand-Knotted Jewelry Design and Repair
Jewelry designer Nancy Geng Vassilakis offers her collection of hand-strung and hand-knotted bead necklaces, earrings, and bracelets through her website, www.edessastudio.com. The hand-knotting technique is used in high-end jewelry and made to last. Every piece of jewelry is lovingly created and a one-of-a-kind limited edition. A large variety of affordable, semi-precious beads are used. In addition to designing new pieces, Nancy repairs and restrings old and broken jewelry. Everyone has a necklace that is damaged and never worn. Nancy can restring your broken piece so you can enjoy it again for many years to come.

While on a sabbatical leave from teaching, I studied photography with Jules Allen at Queensborough Community College. Studies continued at the International Center for Photography in Manhattan. Courses were also taken at the Woodstock, Maine, and Santa Fe workshops. Black and white photography appeals to me because it is more soulful and creates a particular mood. Although the subject matter of my photographs includes almost anything to which I’m attracted, my great joy is in photographing people. My goal is to discover what they’re all about through the lens of the camera. REMNANTS OF CRYPTO-JEWS AMONG HISPANIC AMERICANS (Floricanto Press) was published in 2005 and contains 60 oral histories, accompanied by photographs, of descendants of Jews from the Spanish Inquisition. Slide presentations and eighty-piece exhibit are part of this work. DESATURATED SOUL (Xlibris) was published in 2009. The book contains ninety-six photographs, accompanied by prose. Many of the images have been accepted to juried shows. However, the three mentioned below are especially important to me. SIGNIFICANT PHOTOS IN DESATURATED SOUL: A MOMENT IN TIME was reviewed in the New York Times. It was awarded first-place recognition in the 20th Annual Juried Photography Competition of the Smithtown Township Arts Council. HIGH-SPIRITED has recently been selected as part of Childhood: An International Photo Exhibition. The juror is Jamie Lee Curtis, and the exhibit will travel for one year with the Texas Photographic Society. MINT TEA is part of Women In Photography International’s traveling exhibit, Teatime, in memory of Linda McCartney. BROOKLYN REVISITED: MY JOURNEY BACK (Outskirts Press) was published this year. This book also contains photographs, accompanied by prose. I was born in Brooklyn and photographed streets and neighborhoods I walked as a child. I am a member of LIAG, Long Island Author’s Group, and will be a member of the board in January. Books are available through Amazon and Barnes and Noble. All photographic images may be ordered, framed or unframed. BGDR529@AOL.COM

Have you thought about creating a brochure, a piece that will show your work as well as give you the oppportunity to say something about yourself. I can help you create a piece that speaks with your voice.

In photography I take my cues from The Hudson River School of Landscape Painters, Winslow Homer and from Walker Evans. I photograph the landscape transformed naturally by light and space, and also by man`s encroachment upon it, which usually contains iconographic references to American culture and industry. In painting I`m referencing American culture, and iconography in more general terms, and space and light upon landscape and still life objects.
My Works of Art My Works of Art
Most of the work on my website is created in the style of realism. What I paint reflects a specific and special moment in time before it`s gone. Sometimes, it`s all about the beauty or the feeling from it. I want viewers to see what I see and feel what I felt at the time of creation, as I capture it to make a lasting impression. All of my works are intricate and unique and I pay close attention to detail which affects the outcome of each and every piece I create.
My Time Has Come My Time Has Come
My Time Has Come is Madona Cole-Lacy’s passionate response to what she perceives as a need for solid cultural and social art-related programs to be made available to children, parents and educators. Ms. Cole-Lacy presents and facilitates art related multi-cultural and educational programs and workshops which foster appreciation, sensitivity, sense of self, tolerance to racial, cultural, ethnic and generational issues. These programs are primarily offered in the form of hands-on surface design workshops, motivational workshops and multi-cultural presentations to people of all age groups in venues such as schools, libraries, cultural arts centers, senior centers and museums throughout the United States.
