On Sunday, June 9th the Arts Council is hosting a “Mother/Daughter Princess Tea Party” fundraiser. The Tea Party will take place at the Freeport Recreation Center’s Restaurant Lounge from 1pm until 4pm.
Activities will include “Make Your Own Tiara”, “Make Your Own Wand”, “Make a Candy Tea Cup”, and “Story Time”. We will be serving refreshments and light tea party treats.
The goal of this fundraiser is to introduce young families to the Arts Council, raise funds for programs throughout the year, inquire what programs you would like to see, and of course enjoy a lovely Sunday afternoon with your princess!
The cost of the event is $25 per mother/daughter. There is a cost of $10 per additional child/guest.

Arts Academy After-school art classes for students at Atkinson Intermediate School and Dodd Middle School Spring 2013
Funded by the Freeport Community Development Agency Hosted by the Freeport Public Schools Endorsed by the Freeport Youth Services Coalition
No fee but prior registration is required. Supplies will be provided. Students should wear a smock or apron to protect their clothing. No prior art experience necessary. Classes will culminate with an exhibit.

The Long Island Arts Council at Freeport is pleased to sponsor a Craft Fair as part of the Freeport Memorial Library's Fall Festival. A variety of hand-crafted items will be available for sale. Also enjoy a petting zoo, carnival games, inflatable bouncy house obstacle course, refreshments, and more.

artflock is a core project of the Alliance for Sustainable Arts Professional Practices (ASAPP). ASAPP is a coalition of not-for-profit arts organizations and arts-related businesses dedicated to sharing professional development opportunities and best practice resources with artists in the New York City area. ASAPP members include A.I.R. The Arts Council's 2012 Hat & Artist Luncheon was held on June 14 at The Mansion at the Woodlands, Town of Oyster Bay Golf Course, in Woodbury.
The event featured a vintage & designer hat exhibition, silent auction, raffles, an exhibit, a performance, wonderful honorees, and great company!

A reception was held on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 to celebrate the renovation of The Art Alcove Gallery located in the Freeport Recreation Center. This project was funded by Nassau County Legislator Dave Denenberg. The enclosure will ensure the safety of the artwork and provide a more accessible viewing space for the public.

The winning composition was performed at the Long Island Composers Alliance Music for Students program on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at the Freeport Memorial Library.
